Each artefact directive takes one or more options, separated by blanks, on one line:

An option a directive does not take is an error:
app.msg:4:9: error: unknown $STRING option 'INHERITED'
The settings are sticky — they apply to every $MESSAGE that follows, until changed. To pick the artefacts of a single message, use the list after $MESSAGE Name : instead — see Messages.
